Having started its activity as merchants, in the city of Oporto, the Pinto Basto family was soon enrolled in the transport business, in order to secure its merchandise.
For three centuries, the family's commecial activities have been extensive, ranging from tobacco contract to the porcelain industry. It is, however, in transport that a line of continuity can be traced.
The Pinto Basto Group, which has always pioneered the business activities it got engaged in, started its internationalization in 2002 by establishing itself in Angola. The Group is now consolidating this new challenge by opening up to other emergent markets.
